'DMK goons vandalized her house': Annamalai about the attack on the residence of senior TN BJP leader!

Tamil Nadu BJP President Annamalai has slammed the DMK government over the attack that was played out on the residence of Sasikala Pushpa, who is the vice-president of the BJP's state unit. Sasikala Pushpa's residence in Thoothukudi was attacked on Thursday by unidentified people when she was at Nagercoil, attending a party's event.

Amid the tensions, Annamalai has accused the local DMK minister of instigating the attack. Sasikala Pushpa's residence was attacked a day after she spoke in a threatening tone against DMK Minister Geetha Jeevan. By sharing the video of the aftermath of the attack, Annamalai claimed that Sasikala Pushpa's house was vandalized under the instructions of Geetha Jeevan.

Taking to Twitter, Annamalai wrote, "Under the instructions of the Minister of Women Empowerment & Social Welfare in the DMK govt, Tmt Geetha Jeevan avl, DMK goons vandalised BJP Tamil Nadu's Vice President Tmt Sasikala Pushpa's house and car today." "Tmt Sasikala Pushpa avl's only mistake was to question the minister's inability to provide good governance and their corrupt practices", Annamalai added.

Tamil Nadu BJP leader Karu Nagarajan said that Sasikala Pushpa's house was attacked under the instigation of DMK Minister Geetha Jeevan. He frurther said that based on the instructions from Annamalai, a complaint with his regard has been filed with Tamil Nadu's Director-General of Police Sylendra Babu. Condemning the attack, several BJP cadres have gathered at the crime spot and urged the police to apprehend the miscreants.

Sasikala Pushpa is the vice-president of Tamil Nadu BJP and she was former MP. She was with ADMK before and switched side in February 2020. She served as an MP from 2014 to 2020 and while she was elected to the Rajya Sabha in ADMK's ticket, she quit ADMK in 2016 after which she served as an Independent in the Parliament. Months ahead of the end of MP term, she joined BJP and was appointed as the vice-president of the party's state unit.

She also served as the Mayor of Thoothukudi from 2011 to 2014. She turned to be staunch critic of DMK and her house in Thoothukudi was attacked by the miscreants a day after she slammed and threatened DMK Minister Geetha Jeevan. In recent times, Tamil Nadu has been witnessing a fierce war of words between the DMK and BJP leaders including BJP state president Annamalai.

Annamalai's luxurious watch was the centre of the war and several DMK leaders and ministers including Senthi Balaji had attacked Annamalai. Jumping on the line of the party, several DMK cadres have been flaying Annamalai and BJP on social media. Recently, Geetha Jeevan, who is the Minister of Social Welfare and a native of Thoothukudi, came down hard on Annamalai and demanded the BJP leader to stop speaking lies about the ministers.

Geetha Jeevan was speaking at a party's event in Kovilpatti and she further said that if Annamalai refuses to stop attacking the ministers, the DMK leaders will take the stage and hit back. Responding to Geetha Jeevan's speech, BJP leader Sasikala Pushpa voiced against the former in a BJP's event that held on Wednesday in Thoothukudi. Sasikala Pushpa threatened Geetha Jeevan that the DMK minister would lose her legs when she steps out of her house.

Sasikala Pushpa went on to say that DMK leaders won't have tongue to speak against Annamalai. She further said that Annamalai is working for 24 hours and the DMK cadres won't have any competence to speak about Annamalai. A day after her speech that went viral, Sasikala Pushpa's house was brutally attacked by unidentified people. Sasikala Pushpa was at Nagercoil on Thursday when her residence was attacked and Thoothukudi SIPCOT police arrived at the spot and launched a probe. A team of police officers are stationed at the spot and the officials are reviewing the CCTV footage to locate and nab the miscreants.
