Dhanush's latest blockbuster 'Thiruchitrambalam' is all set to get released on OTT release, nearly one month after its successful theatrical release. The movie was originally released on August 18 and opened to a massive reception. It grossed Rs 50 crore at the Tamil Nadu Box office within a week and in total, the movie has collected over Rs 100 crore.
Thiruchitrambalam is bankrolled by Kalanithi Maran under his banner 'Sun Pictures' and on Monday, the production house made the announcement about the movie's OTT release. As per the announcement, Thiruchitrambalam will be streaming on the Sun NXT platform from September 23. Sun Pictures took to Twitter and wrote, "The mega blockbuster Thiruchitrambalam streaming worldwide in 4K and Dolby Atmos from 23rd Sept only on Sun NXT."
Thiruchitrambalam is directed by Mithran R Jawahar, who marked his fourth collaboration with Dhanush through the movie after 'Yaaradi Nee Mohini' (2008), 'Kutty' (2010), and 'Uthamaputhiran' (2010). Thiruchitrambalam revolves around the romantic exploits of the lead character who is a food delivery guy with a strict father, a friendly grandfather, and a childhood bestie.
While Dhanush played the lead role, Nithya Menen, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Raashi Khanna, Bharathiraja, and Prakash Raj play significant roles in the movie. Om Prakash handled the film's cinematography, and Prasanna GK handled the editing. Anirudh composed the film music.
Despite a fairly pre-release response and media hype, Thiruchitrambalam managed to live up to all the hype surrounding it, especially among fans who got to see their favourite actor for the first time in a family-friendly storyline amid the action and serious masala drams. Dhanush has several projects in his pipeline including Naane Varuven, Vaathi, and Captain Miller.
