Dhanush, the versatile actor who has won many accolades for his performances in films like Asuran, Karnan and Vaathi, is all set to thrill the audience with his next project. Step into the world of intrigue and power plays with the upcoming film, D51.
According to the latest reports, the film is said to be based on true events from four decades ago, this political thriller takes deep into the underbelly of Tamil Nadu's political and mafia setting. The film has an interesting star cast that includes Nagarjuna, the veteran actor who has ruled the Telugu cinema for decades.
Nagarjuna, who is known for his diverse roles in films like Manmadhudu, Soggade Chinni Nayana and Wild Dog, Brahmastra Part 1: Shiva, was impressed by the plot of D51 and agreed to be a part of it. He will be playing a pivotal role in the film that will have a lot of twists and turns.
The film also marks the first collaboration of Dhanush and Rashmika Mandanna, the young and talented actress who has won the hearts of the audience with her charming roles in films like Geetha Govindam, Dear Comrade and Varisu. Rashmika will be playing the female lead opposite Dhanush and will be seen in a different avatar.
The film is expected to have a grand musical score by none other than A.R. Rahman, the Oscar-winning composer who has given many memorable songs for Dhanush’s films like Raanjhanaa, Maryan and Atrangi Re. The fans are eagerly waiting to hear the magical tunes of Rahman for this film.
The film is currently in the pre-production stage and the shooting is expected to begin in October. The film is being produced by Sathya Jyothi Films. The actor is also expecting the release next, Captain Miller directed by Arun Matheswaran.
