Dengue lives and claim more lives in Tamil Nadu!

Despite the on ground precautionary measures to counter and to barricade Dengue in the state of Tamil Nadu, the deadliest epidemic has claimed the life of 4 year old child in Vellore district of the state that has rose the death toll to six in this year.

The reports say that the 4 year old girl, a native of Tirupattur was diagnosed with fever on last Friday after which she was taken to the local government hospital from where she was given with basic treatment and later she was sent home. It has been reported that the child wasn't recovered from her illness where she was again taken to the same hospital with high temperature following which she was then referred to the Vellore government hospital for further treatments on Monday. With accord to the reference, she was admitted in Vellore hospital and the reports had stated that beyond the efforts, she was finally declared with Dengue positive and despite of the treatments, she was pronounced dead at the hospital that had added her name in the sixth spot where there were previous five deaths in the state due to Dengue this year.

Vellore has been termed with one of the districts in Tamil Nadu which has been under medical watch with the wake of more cases which have been reporting in the district and along with Vellore, the districts like Chennai, Tiruvallur, Coimbatore and Dharmapuri have been witnessing rampant rise of the Dengue epidemic while compared to the other districts. The Dean of the Vellore government hospital has said that the government and the hospital are taking out all the possible efforts and combat measures to prevent the people from Dengue and cited that the government has been hosting regular awareness events in the rural areas with the move to ensure that the rural people have been preparing to tackle the epidemic from their households.

Dr Kolandasamy, the Director of Public health has indicated that the government hospitals in the state have been organizing a 'dengue prevention day' for every week to meet the people and to spread the awareness about the rise of the epidemic. The state of Tamil Nadu has been under uncertainty on the death toll where all of the casualties were children. In the month of September, an eight year old boy of Chennai was the first to loss his life followed by 11 month old baby had died in Tiruvallur district while 9 year old girl Vaishnavi of Karur district died in the second week of October whereas 11 year old girl and five year old boy were lost their lives in Vellore and Tirupattur respectively.

In 2018, the state of Tamil Nadu had accounted for total of 4486 Dengue cases in which about 13 people had died and the health department had cited that despite of the countermeasures, the numbers will be similar in this year where for this year, the districts like Vellore, Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram, Coimbatore and Dharmapuri have been reporting with more cases.
