With the view of getting back to jail, a 22-year-old Delhi man has reportedly threatened to kill Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He was out on bail and wished to get back to jail due to which he had made a phone call with a death threat to the Prime Minister. He was arrested by the Delhi police and lodged in prison.
The accused was identified as Salman and belongs to Delhi's Khajuri Khas. According to reports, Salman had made the death threat call to the police in the night hours of Thursday. He had dialled the police and said, "I want to kill Modi." After hours of search, the police had arrested him for investigations.
The police officials had nabbed him from the Khajuri Khas area and he was then brought to the police station. During the interrogation, the accused had confessed that he made the call because he wanted to go to jail. Police officials said that Salman has several cases against him.
He has recently come out of prison by acquiring bail and as he wanted to get back to jail, he called the police and issued a threat that he wanted to kill the Prime Minister. The police had taken him under custody and the reports say that as the matter is related to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the intelligence officials will also be interrogating Salman.
The police had said that Salman was arrested for allegedly issuing death threats to Prime Minister Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah in January last year. He had voiced against the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the National Register of Citizens (NRC) by posting his remarks on social media.
