Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal has gone into self-quarantine on Monday after he developed discomforts to his health condition amid the Coronavirus outbreak, where his state is at peak of infection with high caseloads.
According to the reports, Kejriwal was sick since Sunday afternoon and he complained of fever and sore throat following which he has kept himself under isolation.
The Chief Minister would be undergoing the COVID-19 testing on Tuesday and all of his meetings that are scheduled till tomorrow are now been canceled owing his health condition.
Kejriwal has made his last appearance on Sunday evening in a media briefing during which he put out the announcement that the government has decided to make all the private and the government hospitals in the city for the residents of the city to get COVID-19 treatment.
Delhi is the third Indian state to have the most number of COVID-19 cases in the country after Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu. According to the Union Health Ministry, Delhi has reported 28,936 cases so far as of Monday morning of which 17,125 are active, 10,999 have been discharged while 812 had died due to the infection.
At the global stage, India is the fifth worst-hit nation in the world by reporting 2,56,611 cases so far as of Monday morning and the country's death toll stands at 7,200 most of which were due to co-morbidities.
