While the state of Tamil Nadu observes and campaigns social distancing as one of the top preventive measures to contain the spread of the Coronavirus, the three hospital staff attached to the Ariyalur government hospital broken the chain of social distancing and reportedly took a selfie with the virus affected patient treating in the hospital and they got suspension in return.
According to the reports, a 25-year-old Chennai based woman was tested positive for the virus on Friday and she has been admitted at the isolation ward in Ariyalur government hospital. However, despite being quarantined, she reportedly shot a TikTok video from the ward with the help of three sanitation workers without understanding the necessity to maintain social distancing.
Along with helping her to make the video, the three workers had clicked a selfie with her, who is tested positive for the virus. After the incident come to the light, all three hospital staff were suspended immediately for breaking the guidelines and they are currently quarantined after they got close to the virus affected patient. The reports stated that she made the video with the view of not disappointing her online followers.
The incident has occurred when the state government has been speeding up the preventive measures to fight the virus in the state and appealing the people to stay indoors, maintain self-isolation, and avoid unnecessary travels. The state has been brought under complete lockdown and curfew under section 144 has been imposed that would be in place till April 14th, 2019.
