COVID-19: This TN hospital has given a hearty sendoff to the recovered patient!

The frontline workers in Tamil Nadu and elsewhere in the country, including doctors and medical teams, have not only taken the risky responsibility to combat the spread of Coronavirus in their respective territories but they have also been sending love, care, warm regards, and hearty sendoff for the patients who had recovered from the pandemic as the recovered numbers mark their service and give hope to the rest on overcoming the battle.

The state of Tamil Nadu has given one such hearty sendoff to the recovered patient. The hospital staff attached to the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital in Trichy had given a farewell to a 24-year-old patient who got recovered from the virus and discharged. According to the reports, the discharged man had a travel history to Dubai, where he went for a job hunt. He was admitted to the hospital after he developed symptoms for the virus.

On March 26th, he was tested positive for the virus and kept in the isolation ward for further treatments and on Friday, he was discharged from the hospital after two of the consecutive results returned negative and the doctors and other medical staff gathered at the hospital entrance and gave him a hearty sendoff. The medical team cheered on the recovery while he embarked into the ambulance at the hospital entrance.

The recovered man belongs to Erode and the hospital staff gave him water, boiled eggs, and fruits to have during his journey to the hometown. The doctors have instructed him to remain under home quarantine for the next 28 days and his health would be checked by a team of doctors during the quarantine period as the heart-touching sendoff moment shared solidarity and respect for the frontline workers who are on the ground as the task force to fight against the global pandemic.

As of Friday evening, the state has reported with 911 positive cases of which 858 are active patients, 44 have been recovered and discharged while nine have succumbed to the virus. These active cases include Indians and foreign nationals and getting treated across the state and most of the positive cases have attended the Tablighi Jamaat Conference that was organized in Delhi last month.
