Earlier, the labor department of the state has also requested the state government's consent to provide the aid package to 12.79 lakh registered members of 14 welfare boards including footwear, leather goods, handloom, and silk weaving workers, pottery workers, street vendors, cooks, and washermen.

The reports stated that the fund for providing the aid package for these labor workers would be acquired from the respective boards. On the other hand, the government has asked the authorities to reach out to the unregistered workers to register in the unorganized sector and this aid package has come at the crucial time when hundreds of migrant workers left stranded in the state as the state and the Central government have suspended the transportation channels and imposed a complete lockdown as the measure to contain the spread of the virus.
