In the middle of the precautions, Chennai has, on Thursday, reported with the third positive case for the Coronavirus, which has now become the global pandemic by causing major devastations and claiming thousands of lives worldwide. Tamil Nadu Health Minister Vijayabaskar has issued conformity about the third case in the city, which has been reported exactly one day after the city recorded with the second case.
According to the reports, the third patient who tested positive for the pandemic is a 21-year-old teenager who arrived in Chennai from the Irish capital of Dublin on March 17th. Upon arriving, he was screened at the airport and kept under home quarantine. He admitted himself to the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital (RGGGH) in Chennai on Wednesday after developing the symptoms for the virus and his blood samples were collected and sent for further examinations. On Thursday, the tests returned positive for the epidemic following which he has been isolated and treated in the government hospital.

Vijayabaskar asserted that he is doing stable and isolated and further stated that all the three positive cases in the state are imported cases from different regions with travel histories. By citing that all these cases were identified because of the stringent screening, he urged the people to extend full cooperation. As we reported earlier, on Wednesday, a 20-year-old who hailed from Delhi had tested positive and currently been isolated in RGGGH. The first positive case was discharged from the hospital on Tuesday after a 45-year-old, who returned from Oman, was tested negative and as of Thursday, the state reported with three cases in which one has been recovered.
As for as India is concerned, the country has, on Thursday, recorded its fourth death as a 70-year-old man in Punjab had died due to the epidemic. The deceased man had returned from Germany to New Delhi via Italy earlier this month. As the cases have been soaring high in the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been scheduled to address the nation on Thursday evening amid the outbreak.
Earlier this month, a 76-year-old man from Kalabarugi, Karnataka, a 68-year-old woman from Delhi, a 65-year-old woman from Maharashtra had passed away due to the epidemic and the demise of the Punjab man makes the country to record its fourth casualty. The country has reported with 169 positive cases so far and of these numbers, 141 are Indians while the rest are foreigners.
The state of Maharashtra has more cases (45) in India followed by Kerala (27), Haryana (17), Uttar Pradesh (17), Karnataka (14), Jammu and Kashmir (12), Rajasthan (7), Telangana (6), and Tamil Nadu (2) while the states like Odisha, West Bengal, Punjab, Uttarkhand, Andhra Pradesh had reported with one case each in its respective territories. The Central government has been tightening the preventive measures. According to Reuters, the Indian government has banned the scheduled international commercial passenger flights from landing in the country from March 22nd for one week.
The reports have stated that the Indian government has requested the state government to issue appropriate directions to enforce work from home for private-sector employees except those working in the essential and emergency services and the state governments would also issue orders to ensure that the citizens about 65, except for public representatives, medical professionals, and government servants, would stay at home.
