COVID-19: This ADMK Minister was removed from the post over a controversial tweet!

Amid the Coronavirus outbreak, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister had, on Sunday, removed state minister KT Rajendra Balaji from the post of ADMK's district secretary in Virudhunagar hours after airing controversial tweet about the spread of the pandemic in the country. 

Rajendra Balaji, the sitting Tamil Nadu Milk and Dairy Development Minister, has been known for his controversial statements as he has previous episodes of getting into the criticism and while the country collectively combats the global pandemic, he took to Twitter and winged a tweet that has turned against him to get sacked from the party's post.

In his tweet, Rajendra Balaji said that "what is happening in the country currently is a lesson for the fake protestors who teased and made fun of the beliefs Hindus and natural practices". He further appealed to Lord Krishna to save the country and its people from the global pandemic. He has aired his tweet on Sunday when the state has been under self-lockdown and hours later, his tweet was deleted after it got controversy in return.

In a statement jointly released by Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami and Deputy Chief Minister Paneerselvam, the leaders said that Rajendra Balaji is being relieved from the post of district secretary of Virudhunagar. However, the leaders didn't mention why the action was taken. His tweet has come while the state has been reporting with new positive cases. Currently, the state has recorded nine positive cases due to the Coronavirus, of which one has been recovered and discharged while the rest have been quarantined and getting treated across the state.
