The two recent developments from Tamil Nadu shown the adverse outcome of the lockdown. On Friday, a Malaysian return man has hanged himself to death after having been confined in the home to observe the quarantine.
He was identified to be the native of Aranthangi in Pudukottai district and he returned to the state from Malaysia recently and he had been directed to remain under the home quarantine as thousands of people who returned from aboard. However, on Friday, his relatives smelled something suspicious after his room was remained locked up for many hours following which they alerted the local police department and they found him hanging inside his room. The police and the medics recovered the body and dispatched for the autopsy.
On Saturday, the Theni district in Tamil Nadu has a different story to tell on how the loneliness had brought the delusion of fear and depression. As a result of the depression, a 34-year-old man had bitten the throat of an elderly woman. The initial reports say that the man has returned from Sri Lanka recently and he was advised to be under home quarantine. He was under quarantine for a week and on Friday, he broke out from the house and he reportedly has bitten the throat of a 90-year-old woman.
The affected woman was taken to the government hospital for the treatments and on Saturday, she was declared dead. These back to back incidents had shown the result of how the never-came through the life of loneliness had an adverse impact for some people leaving to hurt themselves or others. While the government fights the coronavirus through its stringent measures, let's ensure to fight the loneliness virus through happiness by recreating our relations, reviving our health, and reaffirming to observe the social distancing.
