The state of Tamil Nadu has reported 56 fresh cases that were tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19) on Friday taking the total number of affected cases to 1,323 so far including the active, recovered, and deceased patients and the current reporting had risen the graph after recording a decline in the affected cases for the past three days.
Along with the reporting of the fresh cases, the state has also recorded the highest number of recoveries and discharges so far in its territory. On Friday, 103 patients have been discharged from the hospital through which the number of recovered cases stands at 283 and adding to that, the state has reported no fresh fatalities and the death toll currently recorded at 15.

According to the reports, about 23,934 people have been under home quarantine across the state while 34 people remain under the isolation wards in the hospitals whereas 78,349 have completed their 28 days tenure of home quarantine. The state has tested 29, 673 samples so far. As of Thursday, the state has reported 1,267 cases and with the current reporting of 56, the number has climbed to 1,323.
The official figures have been put out by the state health department and of these 56 cases, Tanjore district has reported the highest number with 17 cases followed by Chennai with 11 cases. The state government has said that it had tested more than 6000 samples on April 14th which is the highest in the state and at the current stage, the mortality rate has been recorded as 1.1% in the state.
On Thursday, the state has reported 25 cases of what has become as one of the lowest rises of the cases and it has recorded 62 recoveries. The number of recoveries has been increasing for the past few days amid the second spell of the lockdown imposed by the state government. It has also received 24,000 rapid testing kits on Friday to enhance and increase the testing capacities. As of Friday evening, the state has reported 1,323 cases positive for the virus of which 1025 are active patients, 283 have recovered - 103 recoveries in a single day, and 15 patients have succumbed to the virus.
