The state of Tamil Nadu has reported 43 fresh cases that were tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19) on Monday taking the total number of affected cases to 1,520 so far in its territory including the active, recovered, and deceased patients and along with the reporting of the fresh cases, the state has also marked two fresh fatalities through which the death toll currently stands at 17.
While addressing the reporters, Tamil Nadu Health Minister Vijayabaskar has put out the latest developments concerning the outbreak during which he said that the state has reported with 43 fresh cases of which 18 cases belong to Chennai, which currently houses the most number of positive cases in the state so far. Pudukottai district has reported its first COVID-19 positive case.

According to the reports, the capital city has 303 cases so far and the districts of Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri hadn't reported any positive case for the virus. Vijayabaskar further stated that Tamil Nadu is still in the second stage and no community transmission has been reported and the latest findings were ascertained through rapid testing kits.
The state has tested 46, 985 samples so far and 46 patients have recovered and discharged from the hospital on Monday as it has recorded a decline in the number of cases compared to Sunday. On Sunday, the state has reported 105 positive cases, which has been one of the highest single-day rises in the total numbers. With the current number of recovery, 457 patients had discharged from the hospital so far.
On Sunday, the state has reported 1,477 cases and these fresh cases include a dozen frontline workers as four more doctors, a policeman, two journalists, and two nurses have been tested positive. As of Monday evening, the state reported 1,520 positive cases of which 1,043 are active patients, 457 have been discharged while 17, included the latest two fatalities, had died of Coronavirus.
