Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to air his fourth televised address to the nation on Tuesday at 10 am concerning the Coronavirus outbreak and it is highly speculated that he would announce the final directive of the Central government on whether the lockdown would be extended to curb the spread of the pandemic.
India has been going through the unprecedented experiment of 21-days nationwide lockdown since March 24th and the current spell would be ending on April 14th. Narendra Modi had chaired several virtual meetings with the people of various backgrounds and took stock of the situation and the state of the virus during the lockdown. However, the nation has been witnessing more cases and deaths affected by the virus leaving the government to consider extending the lockdown for two more weeks after April 14th.

Last Saturday, April 11th, Modi had convened a vide-conference meeting with the Indian Chief Ministers and held a discussion with them and reviewed the developments in the states. According to the reports, most of the Chief Ministers had asked the Central government to extend the lockdown till the end of April to grip up the fight against the pandemic. Adding to that, the Ministry of Home Affairs had also obtained views from the state governments towards relaxing the restrictions on various services without loosening the grip on the fight against the virus.
It was speculated that Modi would address the nation on Saturday. However, the Central government has denied such reports on the address leaving the nation to have mixed reactions on the lockdown extension. The reports stated that the Central government may keep the lockdown active for a few more days with providing some relaxations on the services as the current tenure of the embargo has shut down all the non-essential services across the country by exempting the essentials.
On Monday, the Prime Minister's office has issued the conformity that Modi would address the nation on the fourth time in the wake of the outbreak on Tuesday - April 14th at 10 am during which he would issue fresh announcements on how the rest of the days would look like for the nation. India has marked its 20th day of the lockdown on Monday and it has reported 9152 cases affected for the virus of which 857 people have recovered and discharged while 308 people have succumbed to the pandemic.
