Corona outbreak: India reports with the first death of the epidemic amid the precautions!

Amid the preventive measures and mechanisms that have been installed across the country to contain the spread of  Coronavirus (COVID-19), India has on Thursday reported with first death within its territory due to the global pandemic as a 76-year-old has died in Kalaburagi, Karnataka.

The reports say that he had arrived in Hyderabad from one of the virus-hit countries, Saudi Arabia on February 29th. By issuing the conformity of the death on Thursday evening, the Karnataka health department said that he was suspected to have COVID-19 and he was then confirmed to be positive for the epidemic. The health department has added that it has informed the state government of Telangana as the deceased person admitted at a private hospital and receiving treatment in Hyderabad.

The reports have stated that he directly arrived in Hyderabad from Saudi Arabia on February 29th after which he traveled to his native place of Kalaburagi. He was then admitted to the outpatient department of a private hospital in Kalaburagi on March 5th and later on the same day, he was taken to the Gulbarga Institute of the Medical Sciences for further treatments. However, his health was deteriorating due to which his family had taken him to a private hospital in Hyderabad, which is 200 kilometers away from Kalaburagi.

Despite the treatment, his health failed to respond after which he was again brought back to Gulbarga Institute of Medical Sciences in Kalaburagi on March 9th during which the doctors declared that he brought dead. Since he was suspected with COVID19, his samples were collected on March 10th and dispatched to a lab in Bangalore for testing. On Thursday morning, the samples reached Bangalore and later that evening, the health department has issued conformity that he was positive for the virus. According to the reports, he has had existing ailments of asthma and blood pressure. Following his death, India has recorded with the first demise due to Coronavirus and as on Thursday, the state of Karnataka had reported with five other positive cases.

All of these cases have arrived in the state from the virus-hit countries like the United States, and Greece and they have currently been quarantined to contain the further spread. The state government has also been tracing the people who came to the contact of the positive cases and the number of cases has been soaring high in India as the country has recorded with 79 cases so far. On Thursday, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has confirmed two new cases in the state whereas Pune has reported with a fresh case.

At the world stage, the global pandemic has become a global threat as it has been causing major devastations and damages and testing the capabilities to combat the deadliest epidemic. On Thursday, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has said that he and his wife Sophie have been under self-isolation after his wife tested positive for the virus. The virus, which has its crater in the Chinese city of Wuhan has now affected more than a hundred countries. It has claimed the lives of more than 4000 people in the world with having more fatalities reported from China and it has infected more than 1,10,000 people. The soaring high numbers of the epidemic have been plummeting the global markets and economy.
