Congress welcomes Sachin pilot as the drama ends with no major debacles - What's next?

The Rajasthan political crisis, which lasted over a month, had screened off its drama with no major debacles and damages after the intervention of the Congress High command which had cemented the amicable resolution for the heated revolt between rebels -Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and his then Deputy Sachin Pilot.

The development, which was seen as a significant pro for the party, has welcomed by several Congress leaders who took it as a prospect to showcase the unity in the party to the opposition BJP, which was accused of toppling the Ashok Gehlot's government in Rajasthan. The month-long drift and revolt were mitigated after Sachin Pilot met Congress leader Rahul Gandhi at the latter's residence on Monday.

The meeting has come amid the intra-party furor in Rajasthan. The Congress party has released the statement on Monday in which it has stated that Sachin Pilot has met former Congress President Rahul Gandhi and explained his grievances in detail. They had a frank, open, and conclusive discussion. Sachin Pilot has committed to working in the interest of the party and the Congress government in Rajasthan.

According to the reports, Sachin Pilot and Rahul Gandhi had met in the presence of Priyanka Gandhi in Delhi and then they drove to Sonia Gandhi's residence and held a discussion on the grievances placed by expelled Congress leader. After the discussion, Congress party asserted that the grievances and issues raised by the revolted leader concerning Rajasthan politics and Ashok Gehlot will be addressed and further stated that his concerns will be resolved.

Following the assertions from the party high-command on resolving his grievances, Sachin Pilot has announced that he would return to Congress Party and his announcement of the comeback has dotted up the speculations that he will be joining BJP. Sachin Pilot appeared before media on Monday for the first time since the month-long revolt after meeting the Gandhis during which the amicable resolution was attained.

While addressing the reporters, the former Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister said he has never desired for posts and his fight was for the principles. He further stated that he and other dissented MLAs had raised organizational issues, the style of governance in the state, and the sedition case filed by the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the state and expressed hope that these will be addressed soon. He further stated that he and the revolted MLAs raised issues of principles before the Congress leadership and he welcomed the assurance from the Gandhis on addressing their grievances.

By citing that the party has given a position for him and can take it back, Sachin Pilot stated he wanted that the respect to be maintained, and those who have worked hard towards forming the Congress government in Rajasthan be rewarded accordingly. By taking to Twitter, Pilot said, "I thank Smt Sonia Ji, @RahulGandhi Ji, @priyankagandhi Ji & @INCIndia leaders for noting & addressing our grievances. I stand firm in my belief & will continue working for a better India, to deliver on promises made to the people of Rajasthan & protect democratic values we cherish". He further added that he worked hard in brining Congress back to power in Rajasthan and hoped that the party would meet the promises made to the people and pressed that there is no place for personal malice in politics.

According to the reports, Sachin Pilot will be reaching Jaipur at 4 pm on Tuesday and he would likely be awarded what he held before in the state. Following the significant development, according to PTI, Congress Chief Spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said that the political crisis in Rajasthan Congress stands resolved amicably by the intervention of none other than Rahul Gandhi himself.

Surjewala charged BJP and said that this is reflective of steadfast unity in Congress party and the commitment of Congress legislators to never fall prey to BJP's evil designs to defeat democracy. Senior Congress leader Abhishek Singhvi said, "Welcome back #Sachin. A constructive &enjoyable phase of Rajasthan building awaits. Congrats 4teamwork under #RahulGandhi +his tireless team, incl #Venugopal, #Surjewala #Maken who became residents of my home state. Not 2forget pol instincts of #Gehlot which rarely fail him."

On Tuesday, several Congress leaders Digvijaya Singh, Shashi Tharoor, Jitin Prasada, Kuldeep Bishnoi, and Abhishek Dutt have welcomed Sachin Pilot and hailed the leadership of the Gandhis. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, who is preparing to welcome the leader whom he considered as a possible successor, on Tuesday said that it was his responsibility to address the grievances of the MLAs. As the amicable resolution has been framed, Congress decided to form a three-member committee as the next process to affirm and strengthen the resolution.

On Monday, Congress Party's General Secretary KC Venugopal said that Congress President Sonia Gandhi has decided that the party will install a three-member committee to address the issues and grievances raised by Sachin Pilot and his camp of dissented MLAs and arrive at an appropriate resolution. According to the reports, Ahmed Patel, Priyanka Gandhi, and KC Venugopal will be part of this committee as the party hopes for a perfect annexation of the rivals to strongly glue its power in Rajasthan with no major debacles caused for the party unlike what it faced in Goa, Karnataka, and Madhya Pradesh. After Sachin Pilot flagged the banner of revolt, he was expelled from the party and from the post of Deputy Chief Minister and reports say that following the amicable resolution, he returns to party and he would vote for the Ashok Gehlot government in the trust vote in the assembly that has been scheduled to begin on August 14.
