Amid the swirling speculations that have been surfaced around the ADMK party on who is going to win the race for the Chief Minister for the upcoming assembly polls, Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Panneerselvam has, on Monday, winged a fresh tweet that had carpeted more speculations among his supporters and party members.
His tweet has come after he held back to back discussions with the senior leaders of his faction in his bid to the win the race of Chief Minister of the party in the assembly polls, which would be crucial for the party amid series of allegations leveled by the opposition party in its governance. The tweet from the Deputy Chief Minister has drawn major light as the party is just two days ahead of announcing its Chief Ministerial candidate.
The tussle has been getting intensified each day as it reduces the duration of the election. With the party's executive committee meeting, that has held recently, had directed the political skirmish between the top leaders, the party members, and people have been expecting that the announcement of CM candidate would be made on October 7, amid no signs of reaching an amicable resolution to take on the election as a one-party.
As the CM race has been getting tight between Edappadi Palaniswami and Panneerselvam, both the leaders had refrained from meeting each other and the drift was publicly seen when both had attended the event organized for Gandhi Jayanthi on October 2. With Governor participating in the meet, both leaders had attended the event. However, there were no conversations between them as both leaders have been an uncompromisable tug-of-war.
Following the meet, Panneerselvam had traveled to his home district of Theni and he has held discussions with his supporters and senior leaders in his farmhouse in the district as either of the factions have been enhancing their bid and stronghold in the party in winning the race. According to our sources, Panneerselvam had held several rounds of discussions in his farmhouse and many of his supporters across the state had met him in Theni and extended their support.
The sources say that Tamil Nadu minister RB Udhayakumar had also met Panneerselvam as the latter has been hoping that he will be named as the CM candidate. Amid the discussions and the intensifying race, Panneerselvam has on Monday winged a fresh tweet by quoting Bhagavad Gita. He said, "Till now all my decisions were taken for the welfare of the people of Tamil Nadu and the party members. It will continue to be in future".

"What had happened had happened very well. Whatever is happening is also happening very well. Whatever has to happen will happen very well", Panneerselvam added. The reports surface the assertions that he had referred to his revolt against Jayalalithaa's closest aide VK Sasikala and drifting the party after the demise of Jayalalithaa and his demand of forming a steering committee for guiding the party and Edappadi Palaniswami has been against to install the committee.
According to reports, the party members from Edappadi Palaniswami's Kongu Belt had met Panneerselvam and extended their support to the latter during the upcoming elections. The members from the Edappadi's stronghold said that Panneerselvam was identified and elevated by Jayalalithaa and he should serve as the Chief Minister of the state and general secretary of the party in order to win the assembly polls with the huge mandate.
Some reports suggest that the party would less likely be announcing the CM candidate on October 7 as Edappadi Palaniswami has been looking to defer the announcement with the view of pacifying the dissented faction of Panneerselvam. According to the reports, Edappadi Palaniswami has more support from the leaders and the party members currently than Panneerselvam and several party leaders have been naming Palaniswami as the CM candidate with the hope of winning the elections in the 2021 assembly polls.
