Chidambaram guns his attack against Center after being bailed out!

After getting bailed out from Tihar jail where he spent about a hundred days, former Indian Finance Minister and senior Congress leader P Chidambaram has frantically accused the Central government on the backtracking economy during his first media address on Thursday since getting imprisoned.

While addressing the reporters in the party's office that lasted for about thirty minutes, Chidambaram has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi led government is clueless about the economy and stated that the country would be lucky to have 5% of economic growth by the end of the year. He accused the government of being mulish in defending the catastrophic mistakes like demonetization, GST and the former minister branded the prevailing economic slowdown as a man-made catastrophe.

In his address, he further blamed the Prime Minister on observing silence on the economy and cited that the economy can be brought out of the slowdown and depression and slammed the central government's incapability to lift the economy, which, according to him, has been accounted with a severe recession. He stated that Congress and some other parties have been equipped to rescue the economy from the slowdown and asserted that the parties have to wait for better times.

While questioned about the crimes against women, the former minister went emotional and expressed that he was shocked and ashamed over the failing faces of law and order in the country. He further cited that there is a complete breakdown of law and order in many parts of India and accused the police department and law enforcement officials.

Before addressing the press, Chidambaram kept his attendance in Thursday's Rajya Sabha session and he also joined the fellow party leaders and staged a protest in the premises of the Parliament against the skyrocketing price of Onion where the leaders seen holding the banners and raising the slogans by urging the government to reduce the prices and stop harassing the poor.

On Wednesday, the Supreme court has granted the bail to the veteran Congress leader by ending his imprisonment in Tihar jail that lasted for 106 days in the connection to the INX Media money laundering case and after he walked out from the prison by around 8 pm, he said that he will obey the order of Supreme court and stay off from commenting about the case and claimed that there is no single charge framed against him.

On August 21st, he was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation from his Delhi residence with having suspicious involvement in consenting the INX Media to acquire exorbitant overseas fund that the prescribed limit by the Foreign Investment Promotion Board, through the mediation of Karti Chidambaram when Chidambaram was India's Finance Minister in 2007. By granting the bail, the Apex court had directed Chidambaram not to travel out of India and he has been barred from addressing the media about the case and barricaded from contacting the witnesses of the case. The court has instructed him to disclose the bond of Rs 2 lakh and two sureties for his bail.
