Chennai gangster tries to join BJP, but his plan got flopped- See what happened!

A Chennai based history-sheeter, who was under the wanted list, had attempted to join the Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday in the presence of Tamil Nadu BJP President Murugan. He arrived at the event to join the party and to his shock, he was spotted by the policemen and when the cops tried to nab him, he managed to evade the spot, leaving the police to detain four of his friends.

According to the reports, Suryah is the history-sheeter who was involved in over 50 criminal cases including six murders. The hooligan, often called as 'Redhills' Suryah, had decided to join the BJP amid being searched by the police. The party had conducted an event near Vandalur on Monday during which Suryah had planned to join the party in the presence of state president Murugan.

His participation was informed to the police and based on the tip-off, the Chengalpattu police department had rushed to the spot to detain the gangster. However, Suryah had managed to flee the spot after he spotted the policemen. The reports say Suryah has escaped through the car and the policemen had arrested four of his men who accompanied the gangster to the event.

After arresting the four, the police officials had seized the weapons from their vehicles, including a sword that was concealed in the car. The police have collected the video recording to examine the records and they confirmed that Suryah had attended the event. The police filed a case against the four members under section 41 (any police officer may without an order from a magistrate and without a warrant arrest any person) of CrPC.

After taking an undertaking from them, the police had let the four walk free. The incident had sparked controversy on whether BJP is encouraging the gangsters to join the party as Suryah has been one of the history-sheeters who attempted to join the party with carrying serious and criminal crimes. Recently, gangster 'Kalvettu' Ravi has joined the party at the party headquarters in Chennai in the presence of the state general secretary.

Ravi has been involved in over dozens of criminal cases including six murders and 13 cases of extortion, attempt murder, and criminal intimidation. Along with Ravi, gangster Muralidharan has also joined the party recently. Muralidharan belongs to Salem and he is accused in two murder cases, six robberies, and four dacoity cases. Though accused with some of the serious crimes, BJP had given Muralidharan the post of the president of the BJP Youth wing in Salem district.

While addressing the reporters on Suryah's induction into the party, Tamil Nadu BJP President L Murugan maintained that he is not aware of the background of those who are joining the BJP. The reports stated that the event was organized by the party functionary in connection with a wedding in his family.
