In a shocking piece of news, a Tamil Nadu prison official had reportedly put a fake mask by impersonating himself as a police officer to take a photo with Chief Minister MK Stalin. He was arrested at Anna Arivalayam, the DMK headquarters, where he was waiting to click a picture with MK Stalin.
According to reports, 42-year-old Vasanthakumar was serving as an assistant jailer in the Pollachi sub-jail. He was arrested on Wednesday in Chennai on the grounds that he had tried to breach the security cover of Chief Minister MK Stalin by posing as a police officer. Stalin was attending a party event at Anna Arivalayam, that sits on the bustling stretch of Mount Road in the city.
During Stalin's visit to the event, Vasanthakumar alleged attempted to come closer to the Chief Minister by breaching the latter's security. With the view of meeting the Chief Minister, Vasanthakumar had donned a safari suit, a typical outfit of the security personnel of the Chief Minister. It has been reported that when Vasanthakumar was at the Arivalayam wearing a safari suit, he was intercepted by the CID police personnel who are responsible for the Chief Minister's security.
Upon investigating, Vasanthakumar had shown a fake police officer identity card and told the officials that he had come to Chennai to take a photo with the Chief Minister. During the questioning, Vasanthakumar told the police that he had decided to spend his weekly off in Chennai and he came to the city on Wednesday along with his friend.
Vasanthakumar further revealed that they met Health Minister Ma Subramanian at his official residence and took a photo with him. They then decided to take a photo with the Chief Minister and after learning that MK Stalin would be attending a party event at Anna Arivalayam, Vasanthakumar came to the venue in a safari suit and a fake identity card. Later, he got arrested for breaching the Chief Minister's security and posing as a police officer.
