The Uttar Pradesh Police has registered a case against the insiders of the Tandav web series streaming on Amazon Prime. The complaint said that the actor Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub in a stage play where he is dressed as Lord Shiva. 

It is said that Maharashtra BJP MLA Ram Katham lodged a complaint against the Tandav series and the Ministry of Communications sought an explanation from Amazon Prime. The FIR is against Amazon original content chief Aparna Purohit, director Ali Abbas, producer Himanshu Mehra, and author Gaurav Solanki, as well as Saif Ali Khan and Dimple Kapadia. 

The FIR alleges that the series was blasphemous and disrupted the peace in the community. Therefore, the case has been taken up with the relevant departments. The case was registered following a complaint lodged at the Hastra Khanj police station in Lucknow.
