'Can't say that he is doing well, He is critical': Kamal Haasan after meeting singer SPB!

Actor turned politician Kamal Haasan has on Thursday evening rushed to MGM Healthcare Hospital in Chennai to see one of his closest friends SP Balasubrahmanyam, after the latter's health has deteriorated and placed under the state of extremely critical on last evening, which has shocked the fans of the legendary singer who have been hoping for his speedy recovery. 

Paving the visit to the hospital after learning that the singer's health had attained a massive setback, Kamal Haasan straightly went to the ICU ward, where SPB has been getting treated under the maximum life support. After the visit, Kamal Haasan addressed the reporters during which he said that the life-saving machines are functioning and the family members are praying for the singer's speedy recovery. 

The actor turned politician further stated, "Can't say that he is doing well. He is critical". On Thursday evening, the treating hospital has released the official bulletin concerning the health condition of the legendary singer and it had said that his health had deteriorated. In the bulletin, the hospital stated, "Thiru SP Balasubrahmanyam who had been admitted at MGM Healthcare on August 5th, remains on ECMO and other life support measures". 

"His condition in the last 24 hours has deteriorated further warranting maximum life support and he is extremely critical. The team of experts at MGM Healthcare is closely monitoring his health condition", the hospital added. The 74-year-old singer had tested positive for the COVID-19 viral infection on August 5 and he has been hospitalized since then.

Initially, the singer said that he had a mild COVID-19 viral infection and he would be getting discharged in two days. However, on August 14, his health had attained a setback and he was spelled at a critical state and moved to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and he was placed under the support of a ventilator and ECMO. He has been under continuous monitoring by the team of doctors and the sudden deterioration had saddened millions of fans that he earned through his immense and unparalleled contribution in his career. 

Two weeks later from when he attained a setback, his health had shown the signs of improvement and well responded to the treatment and became stable from critical. His son SP Charan, who releases the updates regarding his father's health, had on September 7 said that SPB had tested negative for the COVID-19 viral infection. Charan said that the singer has been on the path of recovery and he even celebrated his wedding anniversary at the hospital. Charan further stated that his father's lungs still needed to improve from the ailing state. 

On September 22, Charan issued the update in which he stated that the singer was recovering well and was eager to leave the hospital. However, within two days, his health had again taken a wrong turn and attained a major setback. As the hospital said, the singer has currently been extremely critical and his health had deteriorated further, as the latest update had further disheartened his fans. Many celebrities, including Bollywood star Salman Khan, are extending their prayers for the legendary singer's speedy recovery.
