In his second leg of maiden overseas visit as Chief minister, Edapaddi Palaniswami has been touring the United States along with his cabinet ministerial colleagues since September 1st, 2019. The delegation headed by the Chief minister had held discussions with the business leaders in New York towards acquiring the investments from the Empire state to the state of Tamil Nadu.
His delegation had signed the books of agreements and Memorandum of Understandings with the dignitaries and business leaders of dozens of US based companies through the investors meeting held in the state of New York and in the state of California, where the visiting delegation had toured the state of California after their New York tour. It has been reported that the investors meet had seen signing the agreements worth of more than 5000 crores from both of the US states, which will be invested in the state of Tamil Nadu where the Chief minister had proclaimed that the state will create more than 20,000 employment opportunities through this investments that will benefit the young people in Tamil Nadu.
Both of these investors meet had been packed with the presence of United States business leaders, state ministers and secretaries of Tamil Nadu, potential investors and the representatives of the companies that have already invested in the state of Tamil Nadu where those representatives had furnished the package of opportunities the state of Tamil Nadu has been unleashing for the foreign investors and companies.
Chief minister, while speaking after acquiring potential investments, had described that the state of Tamil Nadu has been flagging the prospects to invest in trade and industry, technology and finance, aerospace and automobiles.
After concluding the investors meet, the Chief ministerial delegation had visited the car manufacturing plant of Tesla automotive company which is one of the leading automotive electric car manufacturing companies in the United States based in Palo Alto, California. The authorities of Californian company had described about the functionalities and technology of the electric car after which the Chief minister had tabled wide range of discussions with top authorities of Tesla where he had took the prospect of inviting Tesla to establish their manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu.
He further assured that the state government of Tamil Nadu will flag its full support and cooperation to set up the manufacturing plant if Tesla had cited its notion of establishing its plant in the state. During his visit to Tesla, he was accompanied by the state ministers Sampath, Udhayakumar , Rajendra Balaji and the state Chief secretary.
