When the ardent fans of Thala Ajith have been preparing to celebrate the 50th birthday of their favorite actor on May 1 amid the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, they had hit by the shockwaves on Friday after they are told to wait for more time for what they strongly expected to celebrate the birthday. Yes, the first look of Ajith's next 'Valimai' will not be in sight on May 1.
The movie producer Boney Kapoor has on Friday announced that the release of the first look has been deferred owing to the pandemic. Kapoor had released a statement concerning the postponement on social media in which he said, "In the previous statement that was released on behalf of our production unit, we have informed that the first look of Valimai, acted by Ajith and directed by Vinoth, will be released on May 1 during Ajith's 50th birthday".
He stated that "When we released our statement, we never expected that there would be a COVID-19 second wave and it will hit like a tsunami. At this moment, several people across the country had lost their economy, lost their loved ones, and are living in distress and shock about the virus".
"In the backdrop of this extraordinary situation, the release of the first look of 'Valimai' has been deferred as per the collective decision taken by the Zee studious, Bayview projects, all the artists and technicians of the movie. Let's stay united and pray for everyone's care and safety", Boney Kapoor added. The decision to defer the first look has come a week ahead of Ajith's 50th birthday.
On March 15, Boney Kapoor had poured relish on the Thala fans by revealing that the first look of Valimai will be released on May 1. The fans had celebrated the announcement as Ajith's surprise birthday treat to them, who braced up an incessant wait for the movie's update. However, he has now announced that the first look won't be released on May 1, which had shocked Ajith fans.
Valimai will be the second outing for Boney Kapoor with Ajith so is for director Vinoth, who directed 'Neerkonda Parvaai' previously that was starred by Ajith. Produced by Boney Kapoor under the banner of Bayview Projects, Valimai has Ajith in the lead role while Huma Qureshi has been roped in as the female lead and Kartikeya Gummakonda will be playing in the important role. Yuvan Shankar Raja will be composing music for the movie while Nirav Shah will be taking care of cinematography.
Actors Pavel Navageethan, Yogi Babu, Achyuth Kumar, and Sumithra will be playing the important roles. Gummakonda will be playing the antagonist. Valimai was scheduled to release on 12 November 2020 for the Diwali holidays. However, the film's shoot was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic which affected the release schedule, pushing the fans to wait for more time and now, they still have to wait for more time.
