Silambarasan TR, popularly known as Simbu, were in for a treat on his birthday as the first look of his upcoming film STR48 was revealed by none other than Kamal Haasan. The veteran actor and producer took to X, a social media platform, to share the poster of the film, which is bankrolled by his production house Raaj Kamal Films International (RKFI).
The poster shows Simbu in a fierce and fiery avatar, as he plays a dual role of a hero and a villain in the film. The film is set in the pre-independence era and is a historical drama that showcases the valour and courage between the two massive characters, which is not yet known.
The veteran actor Kamal Haasan praised Simbu’s performance and wished him a happy birthday with the hashtags #Ulaganayagan, #KamalHaasan, #Atman, #SilambarasanTR, #BLOODandBATTLE and #HBDSilambarasanTR.
STR48 is the second directorial venture of Desingh Periasamy, who made a successful debut with the romantic thriller Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal, starring Dulquer Salmaan and Ritu Varma. The music for the film is composed by Devi Sri Prasad, who is known for his chartbuster songs and background scores.
The film is expected to release later this year and is one of the most anticipated projects of Simbu, who has been on a roll with back-to-back hits like Pathu Thala and Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu. Meanwhile, the full cast and crew are not yet revealed. However the reports claims that Keerthy Suresh and Pooja Hegde are also being considered for the leads along with Bollywood prowess star Deepika Padukone.
The actor has reportedly undergone a massive physical transformation for his role and has also learned sword fighting and horse riding for the film.The fans are eagerly waiting to see him in a different and challenging role in STR48, which promises to be a grand and epic spectacle.
