BJP's Mission Tamil Nadu 2024: JP Nadda's visit and how TN people prepare to present him a setback!

BJP's National President JP Nadda is all set to roll-out a political tour in Tamil Nadu to prepare the party for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls and as the party is going to face the general election for the first time under his national leadership, his upcoming tours and strategies would address a litmus test on his captaincy. While Nadda is visiting Tamil Nadu on Tuesday, the people are also preparing to present a setback for him.

In the objective to register a victory in the long elusive state of Tamil Nadu in the general elections, the party has launched 'Mission Tamil Nadu 2024' and to strategize the mission, JP Nadda is visiting Tamil Nadu on Tuesday. He will land at Coimbatore and according to reports, at least five events have been so far planned in the Coimbatore district. Nadda will be visiting a temple close to which there was a cylinder blast months ago.

Nadda will be addressing the rallies and the party has planned to give him a rousing welcome while the local people are planning the other way. Tamil Nadu BJP President Annamalai has said that Nadda will start his national tour from Tamil Nadu. Nadda will be visiting Coimbatore and Nilgiris parliamentary constituencies and will meet with state leaders. As BJP has a supportive base in Coimbatore and Nilgiris, the party has chosen these venues for Nadda's tour.

Union Minister L Murugan, BJP leaders Vanathi Srinivasan, CP Radhakrishnan, and other state leaders will participate in Nadda's meet amidst a strong opposition from the local people. The state BJP has scheduled his tour in a way that after the meeting, Nadda would visit the residence of a BJP cadre in the Arunthathiyar colony in Nallisettipalayam, Coimbatore.

While Nadda visits Tamil Nadu with a big plan, the local people in Nallisettipalayam have come to the streets to oppose Nadda's visit. While the roads in the village were repaired owing to his visit, the young people who belong to a Periyar outfit have planned to present a setback to Nadda on his very first visit with a difficult and rigid mission. The people in the area demand that the BJP should not plan a tour that would create disharmony among people.

Raman, the in-charge of Periyar Dravida Kazhagam, said that BJP, which is upholding Sanatana Dharma, should not try to institgate riots between our people who are living like brothers. The outfit further said that BJP is trying to stage a political drama of visiting Arunthathiyar colony with the view of win the Nilgiris constituency in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. The local people further urged Nadda to revoke his plan to visit the village and they cited that they would protest against his visit.
