BJP President JP Nadda tests positive for COVID-19: Check what he had to say!

National President of Bharatiya Janata Party JP Nadda has tested positive for the COVID-19 viral infection on Sunday and he has been under self-isolation. The development has shocked the party and its leaders as it has come when he had held election campaigns in West Bengal in which thousands of cadres had participated. 

JP Nadda took to Twitter on Sunday and said that he has contracted the global pandemic. In his Twitter message, he wrote, "After experiencing initial symptoms of Corona, I got tests done and have been tested positive. My health is fine and I have been following all the guidelines for home isolation on the advice of doctors". 

"I request everyone who has come in contact with me in the last few days to please isolate yourself and get yourself checked", the BJP President added. JP Nadda has been active in the party's election campaigns in recent times and he had attended various campaign events across the country which drawn a huge number of people. 

Recently he has attended campaigns in Hyderabad for the city's civic polls and the city had seen the presence of some of the big shots of the party in the roadshow including Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. 

Last week, Nadda had attended the party event in West Bengal during which the nation had witnessed stirring outrage after his convoy was stone pelted and attacked by whom the BJP claims to be the members of the state ruling Trinamool Congress party. Though Nadda didn't face injuries as he was traveling in the bulletproof car, some of the senior BJP leaders including Mukul Roy and Kailash Vijayvargiya were injured in the attack following which Amit Shah had ordered a probe. 

Nadda had tested positive for the novel coronavirus days after he reached Delhi from West Bengal. His results were spelled positive pushing him to be under home isolation at a high time when he has been planning to visit Tamil Nadu to start the party's campaign ahead of the assembly polls. After knowing the development that Nadda had tested positive, many leaders including Union Ministers had wished him for a speedy recovery. Earlier, nearly ten Union Ministers in Modi's cabinet, including Home Minister Amit Shah, had tested positive for the pandemic and they had later got recovered. 

According to the Union Health Ministry, India had recorded 98,84, 100 COVID-19 cases so far including 27,071 fresh cases that were reported in the last 24 hours till Monday morning. The total death toll stands at 1,43, 355 including 336 new deaths in the last 24 hours while the country has 3,52,586 active cases who are under treatment. So far, the nation has recorded 93,88, 159 discharges including 30, 695 new discharges in the last 24 hours.
