This BJP MP demands action against a Muslim Congress leader for offering prayers at a temple!

A BJP MP has demanded strong action against a Congress Muslim lawmaker for offering prayers at a temple. The incident had happened in Jharkhand and the parliamentarian has threatened to approach the court if proper action was not taken on the Muslim lawmaker.

According to reports, the incident had happened at the backdrop of a by-poll in the state. Nishikant Dubey, the BJP MP representing the Godda parliamentary constituency in Jharkhand, has on Friday threatened to move court if action is not taken against Congress lawmaker Irfan Ansari for hurting the Hindu sentiments by performing Puja at a temple in Deoghar.

Dubey had demanded that Ansari should be booked under the National Security Act (NSA) for worshipping in a temple. It must be noted that NSA would award incarceration without trial for up to a year if the action warrants it for playing against the national security.  The BJP MP had urged Ansari to adopt Hinduism and then perform Puja if he is really a devotee of Lord Shiva.

The reports say that Ansari performed the puja at the temple and followed all Hindu rituals ahead of the Madhupur assembly by-poll in the Deoghar district last Saturday. Dubey said, "Muslims are not allowed to enter or perform puja at Baba Baidyanath Dham Temple". The BJP MP further questioned that whether the Hindus are permitted to offer prayer at Mecca. The same goes with Baidyanath Dham Temple.

Dubey claimed that it is not a political issue but it is related to faith. He further said that Ansari has tried to provoke the religious sentiment of crores of Hindus. The BJP MP added that he has written to the Election Commission of India and sent a copy to the state Chief Secretary and other concerned officials to take action against Ansari and said that he would move to the court if the officials fail to take action against Ansari.

The Madhapur assembly seat was spelled vacant after the death of minister Haji Hussain Ansari. The four-term legislator from Madhapur had died of a heart attack on October 3, 2020, a day after recovering from COVID-19. For the by-poll, the BJP has fielded Ganga Narayan Singh against Hafizul Hasan of the JMM.
