Over one month of battering with allegations and controversies, Actor Vijay starrer 'Bigil' movie has been scheduled to hit the screens tomorrow that had brought down the odd expectations and responses where the Madras High court had today forgo from pronouncing an interim stay for the movie after which it was announced with conformity that the movie will go through with no disputes in near future.
The state's top judicial body, Madras High court had sounded to stay off from barricading the release while it was hearing the petition filed by Amjath Meeran, who approached the court on Wednesday by citing that movie director Atlee had encroached his copyright for the movie in which Amjath's counsel had claimed that movie could only be consented to release after depositing Rs 10 lakh in the court with abiding for the civil suit that he had filed. Through his petition, Amjath Meeran had named him as a writer, producer and director and stated that on 2014, he had written a script under the title of 'Brasil' which is about football and he further claimed that he had registered the story with the Writers Guild of America in 2015. He further indicated that the movie Bigil was similar to his script.
By consenting for urgent hearing, the high court bench headed by Justice Sathish Kumar had today adjourned the hearing to November 5th and by issuing no order towards the petition, the adjournment had cleared the route for Bigil to have safe and expected release.
Amjath Meeran was one among the petitioners to table a litigation against the movie as earlier, another writer and member of South Indian Film Writers Association K P Selva had blamed Atlee for allegedly copying his script and after hearing his petition, the Madras High court had reserved its judgement on the case.
Recently, the movie was awarded with U/A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification where it has been reported that the movie has a total runtime of 2 hours 58 minutes, the rarest stretch of any movies. The movie features Nayanthara in one of the lead roles along with Jackie Shroff, Vivek and Daniel Balaji and music has been composed by A R Rahman.
