Big tour and big agenda: MK Stalin to embark on a back-to-back overseas trip...Where and what we can expect?

Months after wrapping up what he called a successful trip to Dubai, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin is all set to embark on two consecutive overseas tours, and this time, to the western countries. The Chief Minister would have a big tour with big agenda during June and July.

According to reports, MK Stalin will be visiting London in June during which he will take part in various forums including a meeting with the investors and businessmen. Earlier, MK Stalin has announced that the government will be establishing a statue of John Pennycuick, who was the architect behind the iconic Mullaperiyar Dam in Tamil Nadu, in his hometown in the United Kingdom.

As announced, the statue has been installed and MK Stalin has been invited to the UK to unveil it. The Chief Minister will also be visiting the businessmen in the UK with the view of attracting investments to Tamil Nadu. Tamil Nadu Minister for Information Technology, Mano Thangaraj had been on his UK visit last week and he had arrived in Chennai on Tuesday - May 10.

During his visit, Thagaraj took part in the global summit of Tamil Entrepreneurs and Professionals and held interactions with various firms to attract investments to Tamil Nadu. The minister had also reviewed the arrangements made for the inauguration of Pennycuick's statue in the UK. In the sequel to Thangaraj's visit, MK Stalin will be visiting the UK this June and will have a wide range of meetings with the people who are in various areas of commerce.

MK Stalin's London visit may last not less than three days and after wrapping up his UK visit, the Chief Minister will be visiting the United States in July, which will become his third overseas tour. We can expect that MK Stalin will be having a well-packed agenda for the US tour. He will be taking part in an event that will be organized by the North American Tamil forum. He will also be presiding over a potential investors' meeting in which dozens of Tamil-American businessmen will participate.

The reports say that several Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) will be signed between the Tamil Nadu government and the businessmen fraternity towards investing back in the state. An official announcement regarding MK Stalin's upcoming tour will be made after the conclusion of the ongoing assembly session. Earlier in March, Stalin had embarked on his first overseas trip to Dubai and Abu Dhabi. In a letter to the party cadres, he had divulged that his trip was a complete success and that he has signed a handful of agreements and investments for the state.
