In a big toss in K-town, renowned actor Suriya is mulling to release of his next film on OTT. After the back-to-back success, the actor has recently joined hands with director Bala for the first time in 18 years. Bala has directed Suriya in two of his movies - Nandha and Pithamagan. As the promising pair have reunited again, their project, which has been tentatively named Suriya 41, has kickstarted earlier this week. 

The team has begun the shooting for Suriya 41 in Kanyakumari and according to reports, Suriya is thinking to get this movie directly to the hands of audiences through OTT. He is producing Suriya 41 and as the producer, he is releasing his movies on OTT for the past two years. His recent movies that were released on OTT were Sorarai Potru and Jai Bhim. 

Besides Suriya 41, the actor has also joined hands with Vetrimaaran for the first time through the movie 'Vaadivaasal'. It must be noted that Suriya's production banner 2D Entertainments have released over five movies on Amazon Prime last year as the actor has settled with the new leg to walk in the backdrop of the closure of theatres owing to the Covid-19 pandemic. 

It has been expected that Suriya's project with Bala will hit the screens by this year and some reports suggest that this project and Vaadivaasal are being made for theatres. However, Suriya is yet to divulge about how he is planning to release Suriya 41, which is being bankrolled under his banner. While Suriya plays the lead role, Kriti Shetty has been roped in to play the female lead, while GV Prakash Kumar will compose the music. 

On the other hand, his recent movie 'Etharkkum Thunindhavan' is running in the theatres successfully for the third week and completing its fourth week, the makers of the movie would be getting unveiled Etharkkum Thunindhavan on OTT. The reports say that the talks are over and the movie will be released on Sun NXT or Amazon and the film will be aired from April 7.
