Legendary director Bharathiraja has been hospitalized in Chennai for the past ten days due to health discomforts. His sudden hospitalization has anguished his fans and fraternity and in what has become a piece of news that brought a respite for millions across and beyond the borders, the latest reports say the veteran filmmaker will be walking home soon.
According to reports, Bharathiraja is getting recovered gradually and as he is responding well to the treatments, he will most likely get discharged in two days and will go home. Through the development, the fans exchange a smile that the 80-year-old director is successfully battling his health ailments. Currently, he is getting treated at the MGM Healthcare hospital in Chennai and he is being monitored by a team of doctors.
In a recent statement from MGM Hospital concerning the director's health condition, Bharathiraja's health condition is on the road to improvement. The statement said that the veteran director is still in the Intensive Care Unit, undergoing medical supervision by the doctors. As per the latest reports, he may soon be shifted to normal ward as he is getting recovered.
Earlier on August 27, Bharathiraja has penned a letter for the first time since he got admitted to the hospital. In his letter, he wrote, "I was admitted to hospital recently due to a health issue and I am recovering due to the excellent treatment and kind care of doctors and medical staff." He further penned, "I humbly request all my loved ones not to come to see me in person as visitors are not allowed in the hospital. I hope to get well soon and meet you in person."
"I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all those who have kindly inquired and prayed for my recovery in person, over the phone and online after hearing the news of my admission to the hospital. See you all soon. With love, Bharathiraja", he added. Bharathiraja was initially getting treated at a private hospital in T Nagar and with the view of higher treatments, he was on Friday - August 26 moved to MGM Healthcare in Aminjikarai in Chennai.
On August 23, Bharathiraja, after experiencing health issues for a few days, was admitted to a private hospital. It has been reported that based on the advice of his doctor, Bharathiraja has decided to relocate to another hospital and for the fans and well-wishers, who were expecting that he would be recovered, this relocation has come as a shock. Speaking about his father's health condition, Bharathiraja's son Manoj has recently said, "Bharathiraja is receiving regular treatment for dehydration. He'll soon be released from the hospital and come home."
Last week, prominent Tamil poet and lyricist Vairamuthu visited Bharathiraja at the hospital and inquired about his health condition. Speaking to the reporters after meeting the legendary director, Vairamuthu said, "Director Bharathiraja is completely fine. He is getting recovered day by day and the doctors are providing him with the best treatment. There is no need to fear and there is no chance of rumours. Bharathiraja is talking well and in good condition. He will recover soon."
