In a shocking development, On September 9, the legendary director Bharathiraja was released from the hospital after three weeks of treatment before being readmitted. He had previously been treated and kept under observation in the intensive care unit. Numerous admirers and famous people have prayed for him and sent their best wishes for a quick and complete recovery.

In this development, it was reported that the veteran director fell ill once more and has since been admitted to an Amaindhakarai private hospital. According to reports, Bharathiraja is receiving intensive care due to a urinary tract obstruction. In a day or two, he ought to be able to get back home, as per reports.

With the movie Thiruchitrambalam, Bharathiraja most recently evidenced his actorial talent. The romantic family drama, starring actor Dhanush, debuted in theatres on August 18 of this year. The movie was a roaring success and is still playing in theatres today.

It is pertinent to note that Suseenthiran, who is helming Valli Mayil starring Vijay Antony earlier stated that  Bharathiraja told him that he would be joining the film shooting by the end of the month.
