Indian consulate in German city of Frankfurt had organised Indian food festival but what was not in their menu was sudden eruption of controversy in the middle of the food festival where North Indians who took part in the fest had staged protest against Kerala Samajam, the German based Malayali cultural group, which had served the dishes of Parotta and Beef curry in the menu.
After witnessing the menu carrying the curry fried with Beef, several North Indians had gathered in same tone of their collective demand to shut down the beef stall ahead to which the authorities in Indian consulate had ought to urge Kerala Samajam to shutter down the store. As the scenes were going against of the agenda, some of the people who participated and food lovers had dialed the city's police asking their intervention. The team of police, after storming in the premises of Indian consulate had cited that Germany doesn't exercise the denials to anyone from eating what they like and further they had urged the group of protesters to disperse from the place as its not their country to organize protest against consuming beef ahead to which the scenes of protests had dispersed.

Rebutting the actions of protests by North Indians, the Malayali diaspora in Germany had issued strong criticism against North Indians where many took their social media pages to brand this issue as an invasion against the freedom of food.
While addressing its stand about this incident, Kerala Samajam Frankfurt, through its Facebook page had said that the menu has been prepared on the common food interests of Kerala and its people and stated that ahead of hosting scenes of concerns and objections which had oiled the turmoil, the Consular General of India had requested to review and revise the menu to have silent and peaceful go ahead of the event.
It further cited its responsibility as a cultural organization has always flagged to maintain peace and harmony and eventually to uplift the core value of India- "Unity in Diversity"
The reports from Frankfurt had said that the food festival which has become to spotlight, was one among the events collectively called "Indian Fest" which was organised in Frankfurt with the theme of "Unity in Diversity". The festival had hosted food and handicraft stalls from the different states across India which had possibly seen the participation of nearly 20,000 people.
