In the wake of having been accounted for the rise of illegal erections of banners that had killed 23 year old Chennai based techie yesterday, the Madras High court had fiercely voiced against the state government for consistently being deaf on not abiding its orders and warnings towards removing the banners and hoardings that were illegally kept by the political parties across the state.
Hearing the petition filed by the state activist Traffic Ramaswamy, the division bench comprising of Justices Seshasayee and Sathyanarayan had slammed the state government for its failing face towards not implementing the orders passed by the previous benches of the court on accumulated numbers of the banners that have been repeatedly placed in the important places, in the footpath meant for pedestrians and in most parts of the roads.
The Justices had kept their tone vehement and hard towards the government and asked that how many liters of blood that the government wants to spill across the road and slashed the authorities of government for not abiding the court orders towards banning the banners despite of multiple warnings and further sent the heatwaves to the government through their questions where they have doubted the government's approach towards valuing the life of a citizen and quizzed the reasons on why the authorities had turned to be insensitive. While pronouncing his statement, Justice Seshasayee had directed the blame towards the state government stating that the government has no respect for the lives that was seen in its apathy and quoted that the court had lost faith in the government on executing the judicial orders and further questioned the politicians on conducting the marriages without advertising through banners and flex boards. While accusing the government, the high court bench had also accused the government authorities on becoming an agents for the ruling party regardless of which party comes to power.
Through their statements, the Justices had indicated that the high court had observed that no political party which comes to power had responded to the notices and warnings issued by the court against such flex boards and banners and further issued directives to the state Chief minister Edappadi Palaniswamy, urging him to instruct his fellow party men not to uphold such practices of erecting illegal banners across the state and responding to the petition, the attorney general of the state had promised the bench that the state police will initiate concrete action.
Through its befitting reply to the statement of the attorney general, the high court bench had ordered the authorities to remove all party flags that have been flagged in the Marina beach road and stated that the authorities report back with the conformity by 2.15 pm today.
Most of the states across nation had been accounted for the rise of illegal banners where on January 11, 2019, the Supreme court had issued the directives to the Central and to the state governments to curb the political parties over flagging the digital banners in public places.
The Madras High court had shown its fierce face to the state government after a 23 year old Chennai based IT professional was died yesterday after the political banner that was tied up on the divider of the road in Pallikaranai had fell off on her vehicle after which she lost her control on the drive and slipped in the middle of the road and eventually was rammed by the truck that was driving behind her.
