Kanta Prasad, who is the owner of the eatery 'Baba Ka Dhaba' which rose to popularity across the nation recently, has again become the talk of the town after he had filed a police complaint against the Youtuber who captured his plight and changed his life in a day.
According to reports, Baba Ka Dhaba was recently caught with wide popularity across the nation. It is the eatery in South Delhi run by Kanta Prasad (80) and his wife and the couple was one of the thousands who endured more challenges in sustaining their livelihoods as the COVID-19 outbreak and the lockdown triggered by the pandemic had pushed Kanta Prasad to witness a plunge in the daily income generated by his eatery after he had lost most of his customers owing to the lockdown.
As the couple had suffered to cope with the challenge and to meet their daily expenses after losing a major part of their income, they had no way to battle the plight. When Youtuber Gaurav Wasan had gone to the shop, he covered the plight of Prasad and his wife as they tearfully spoke to the video about the challenges after the lockdown and after capturing their plight, Wasan had shared their tearful video on social media.
He shared the video on Instagram and Twitter and the moment he shared the video, it has got wider attention as it was rampantly spread across the country. Some of the celebrities had also shared the video and appealed to the people to eat at their eatery to wipe off their tears. The video was shared among the users and it had gone to the extent of getting trended on Twitter. Following the wider reach, Kanta Prasad was surprised to see hundreds of people queued up before the eatery as they thronged to eat in his shop.
In a day, the life of Kanta Prasad took a happy turn and more customers had visited his eatery and lifted them from the struggle and online Food delivery firm Zomato said that it would list 'Baba Ka Dhaba' in its list so that the small eatery would have a space for their revival. Prasad had gained major attention after his eatery attained popularity. However, days after the development, Kanta Prasad had filed a complaint against Gaurav Wasan, who shared his plight and changed his life in a day.
According to reports, Kanta Prasad has filed a complaint against Wasan on Sunday under the grounds of misappropriation of funds. In his complaint, Prasad said that Wasan shot his video, posted it online, and convinced the public on social media to donate money to Baba Ka Dhaba. Prasad further alleged that Wasan had shared the latter's bank details and mobile numbers to the donors and the Youtuber had collected a huge amount of donation through different modes of payments.
Kanta Prasad further accused Wasan of not providing the details of the financial transactions to him and the eatery owner had said that Wasan had taken more money under the guise of raising donation for the eatery. In what has become a shocking development, Malviya Police Station had received the complaint from Kanta Prasad and the matter is being probed. Deputy Commissioner of Police (South), Delhi Atul Kumar Thakur has said that the FIR is yet to be registered in the case.
