Sivakarthikeyan’s much-awaited film Ayalaan, which features him as a scientist who befriends an alien, is finally set to hit the screens on January 12, 2024, after overcoming a series of hurdles and controversies. The film, directed by R. Ravikumar and produced by KJR Studios, has been in the making for over four years, and has faced several delays and financial troubles.
The film was originally produced by 24 AM Studios, who borrowed some cash from DSR Films to complete the project. However, the film was taken over by KJR Studios, who agreed to repay the loan to DSR Films. But things took a turn for the worse when DSR Films filed a case against KJR Studios in the Madras High Court, alleging that they had only received Rs 3 crore and that KJR Studios had breached the agreement.
The court issued an interim injunction, restraining KJR Studios from releasing the film until the dispute was resolved. With just two days left for the release, the fans of Sivakarthikeyan and the film industry were anxiously waiting for the outcome of the case. Fortunately, the makers managed to sort out the issue amicably and obtained clearance from the court to release the film on the scheduled date.
Ayalaan, which has music by AR Rahman paired up with cinematography by Nirav Shah, is a sci-fi adventure that promises to be a visual treat at big screens for the cinephile. The film boasts stunning CG work by Phantom FX, the company behind the effects of many prestigious movies.
The film also has a stellar cast, including Rakul Preet Singh as the female lead, Siddharth as the voice of the alien, and Isha Koppikar, Sharad Kelkar, Karunakaran and Yogi Babu in supporting roles. The film will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam languages.
