Watch: Makers of Ayalaan drop the five year journey of making the sci-fi entertainer!

The makers of Ayalaan, the much-awaited sci-fi film starring Sivakarthikeyan, have released a making video that showcases the passion and dedication behind the project. The video features the director R.Ravikumar, the music composer AR Rahman, the editor Ruben, the cinematographer Nirav Shah, the production designer T Muthuraj, and the lead actor Sivakarthikeyan, who share their experiences and challenges in bringing the film to life.

Makers took to X, drop the making video, writing, "After investing more than five years of dedicated effort involving hundreds of people into one of our most ambitious projects, #Ayalaan We are excited to share the exclusive making video - Watch nowYour overwhelming love and appreciation for the film mean the world to us. We hope that the breakdown brings you the same joy that it brought us during the creation process.".

Ayalaan, which released on 12th January 2024, is a sci-fi entertainer that revolves around a young farmer who gets involved in a series of adventures after a mysterious non-human friend visits him. The film took five years to complete, as the team had to overcome various hurdles, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, the VFX work, and the budget constraints.

The film also boasts of a stellar cast, including Rakul Preet Singh, Karunakaran, Yogi Babu, Sharad Kelkar, Isha Koppikar, David Broughton-Davies, Banupriya, Balasaravanan, Kothandam, and Rahul Madhav. The making video reveals the hard work and creativity that went into the film, from the conceptualization to the execution.

The director R.Ravikumar says that he had a dream of making a sci-fi film since his childhood, he also praises Sivakarthikeyan for his commitment and versatility, and AR Rahman for his magical music.  The music composer, in turn, says that he was impressed by the script and the vision of the director, and that he wanted to create a musical experience that would suit the genre and the mood of the film.

The editor Ruben says that he had a tough time editing the film, as he had to balance the emotions, the action, and the VFX. The cinematographer Nirav Shah says that he had to use different techniques and cameras to capture the different aspects of the film, such as the rural setting, the alien world, and the futuristic elements.

The lead actor Sivakarthikeyan says that he had a lot of fun and learning while working on the film, and that he was amazed by the final output. He also thanks the fans for their love and support, and invites them to watch the film in theatres. The making video of Ayalaan is a testament to the passion and perseverance of the team, who have delivered a sci-fi spectacle that has been appreciated by the critics and the audience alike.
