Arun Jaitley has passed away

Arun Jaitley, former Indian finance minister and Senior BJP leader and the man who was behind the implementation of Goods and service tax beyond the critics, had passed away minutes ago in AIIMS, Delhi where he was admitted and hospitalized since August 9th with the ailments of breathing and uneasiness.

Arun Jaitley, 66 years old, served as the finance minister in Modi's first term of government where he termed out to be one of the powerful and strongest voices of Modi government and after citing poor health, he didn't contested and took part in Modi's second edition.

He had episodes of being treated in AIIMS, Delhi in the past, while he hold the office of finance minister where he underwent a kidney transplant surgery last year May and a bariatric surgery in September 2014 while he was under continuous medications for diabetes and kidney failure.

He has been widely acknowledged and admired as the leader of versatility with brilliant communication skills beyond the party lines and his service towards implementing the Goods and Service tax has been one of the significant milestones in his entire political career.

Jaitley was one among the senior leaders to name Narendra Modi as the party's prime ministerial candidate where after Modi had assumed power for the first time as Prime minister of the country, he had named Arun Jaitley as the minister of finance, defense and corporate affairs, some of the powerful and important portfolios in Indian government, as the signal of keeping the trust.

Union Home minister, who had suspended his Hyderabad tour and took off to Delhi, had told the loss and sudden demise of Jaitley was the personal loss to him while the rest of the state political parties and political leaders have seen paying their last respect to the versatile leader, which had shown how the nation had admired him beyond political differences.

Prime minister Narendra Modi, who is in three nations tour, had called on the family of Arun Jaitley over phone to place his condolences.
