'Arogyasri Scheme' to be merged with 'Ayushman Bharat scheme'; Telangana CM Decided!

Hyderabad:  Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has decided to integrate the 'Arogyasri Scheme' of the Telangana state government with the 'Ayushman Bharat scheme' of the Indian Government.

He said this on a video conference with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday. When Modi reviewed the updates regarding infrastructure projects, Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Manthri Jan Aarogya Yojana and Jal Jeevan Mission, CM Chandrasekar Rao declared his decision.

Earlier, the Telangana Government was rejecting this scheme for the past two years.

From the Mission Bhagiratha scheme, Telangana has provided safe tap water to all households and the Centre has acknowledged that 98.5 percent of the households in the state have been covered with potable tap water, the release said.

About his decision, State BJP President Bandi Sanjay Kumar mandated an apology from CM for not implementing this scheme for the last two years.  He said in a statement, "Several people suffered and died due to non-implementation of Ayushmann Bharat in the state,"
