From AR Rahman to Dhanush...Kollywood celebrities wish TN Chief Minister-elect MK Stalin!

Besides national leaders, the notable celebrities of the Tamil Cinema industry have been lined up and wishing Tamil Nadu Chief Minister-elect MK Stalin over DMK's remarkable victory in the state assembly polls. With a vivid majority in the assembly, Stalin is driving closer to form the new government in the state amid the prevalence of larger challenges in the state. 

The votes were counted on Sunday and the DMK alliance has secured a lead in 159 constituencies while the ADMK alliance has kept a lead in the rest 75 seats.  As the DMK alliance has swept more than 40 seats than the majority mark of 118 in the lead, it was confirmed that the DMK has triumphed the elections and Stalin will become the next Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Stalin has been poured with the wishes and commendations from the top stars of the Tamil cinema industry. 

Oscar-winning music composer AR Rahman was first in line to congratulate the DMK alliance over its victory. Taking to Twitter, AR Rahman wrote, "My heartfelt congratulations to the DMK alliance for setting Tamil Nadu as an example for India's unity and to attain unprecedented development in social justice, education, and health."  Actor Dhanush has said, "Greeting to MK Stalin for securing victory in a clear majority. My wishes to excel in people's welfare works." 

Dhanush has also congratulated Stalin's son Udhayanidhi Stalin over his victory in the Chepauk- Triplicane constituency in his debut election. Dhanush wrote, "My heartfelt congratulations to my friend Udhayanidhi Stalin for getting elected by the people to do people welfare works for the first time." Director Lokesh Kanagaraj took to Twitter and said, "Hearty congratulations @mkstalin sir & @Udhaystalin sir on the phenomenal win in Tamil Nadu. Looking forward to great governance for the welfare of all of us from you". 

Actor Karthi said, "Wishes to MK Stalin, who is going to become the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu at the crucial time, to provide good governance as per the wish of the people by prioritizing the protection of agriculture and environment along with our unique identities of social justice, religious harmony, education, and health."

Actor Vishal took to Twitter and wrote, "Congrats to DMK party on this fantastic victory & Congrats to dearest friends @Udhaystalin @Anbil_Mahesh. Warm welcome 2 our Chief Minister Thiru @mkstalin. May TN prosper with good things to come in the next few years & expecting much-needed Oxygen in our fractured film industry." Actor Sibi Sathyaraj said, "It’s time to celebrate & welcome our new Chief Minister Thiru @mkstalin avargal. Hearty congratulations @Udhaystalin bro. Best wishes to the new government. Much deserved Victory!"

Actor Sivakarthikeyan took to Twitter and wrote, "My heartfelt congratulations to MK Stalin sir for registering a massive victory in the Tamil Nadu elections and to Udhayanidhi Stalin sir for registering his first victory." Director Karthik Subbaraj said, "Congratulations to our new CM @mkstalin sir, @Udhaystalin brother & whole DMK party for the Big win...Hoping for a very Progressive Rule & Leadership."

Actor Vikram Prabhu took to Twitter and wrote, "Heartiest wishes to @mkstalin sir and @Udhaystalin brother on the massive victory. Wishing the best years of governance ahead." On Sunday, Superstar Rajinikanth has released a statement in which he said, "I heartily congratulate my dear friend respected MK Stalin, who efficiently and restlessly worked in the elections and won, that he lives with good life and health and he rules in a way of satisfying the people of all backgrounds and that he earns reputation by transforming Tamil Nadu into a prosperous state."

Several national leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, former Union Minister P Chidambaram, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, NCP leaders Sharad Pawar and Supriya Shule had extended their wishes to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister-elect MK Stalin for recording a landslide victory.  On Monday, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami has resigned from his post after conceding the defeat and MK Stalin will be swearing-in as the next Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on May 7.
