Two days after Union Home Minister Amit Shah tested positive for COVID-19, Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has, on Tuesday, confirmed to have contracted to the viral infection, becoming the second Union Minister in the Modi's cabinet to get affected by the pandemic.
According to the reports, Pradhan (51) had developed positive symptoms for the viral infection on Monday following which he underwent testing on Tuesday. The results returned positive and he has now been admitted to the Medanta Hospital in Gurugram, near Delhi where Home Minister Amit Shah has been getting treated.
Pradhan took to Twitter and said, 'I got tested after developing the symptoms. The report has come positive'. 'I have been admitted to the hospital on the advice of the doctors and I am healthy', he added.
Pradhan has become one of the prominent national figures to get contracted to the viral infection. The reports stated that Pradhan had met Amit Shah last week. Earlier, his staff had tested positive for the global pandemic.
Some of the other prominent people who tested positive for COVID-19 include Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit, Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, and former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
