Days after actor Suriya's blockbuster movie 'Soorarai Pottru' was confirmed to take a new avatar in Bollywood, the Tamil cinema industry is all set to witness the Hindi remake of yet another Tamil movie. Yes, Nayanthara starred superhit movie 'Kolamavu Kokila' will now be entering Bollywood as 'Goodluck Jerry'.
Kolamavu Kokila is director Nelson Dilipkumar's debut project and the movie has won great reception and is known for the pairing of Nayanthara and Yogi Babu. The movie, which was made as a dark comedy thriller, was released in 2018. Kolamavu Kokila revolves around Kokila, who is an innocent girl, who gets dragged into a detrimental cocaine smuggling for her emergency financial demands.
Yogi Babu, who unknowingly falls in love with Kokila, gets caught in it. The movie has received positive reviews from fans and critics and Nelson Dilipkumar has had a promising opening. With the successful reception from Kolamavu Kokila, Nelson went on to direct Sivakarthikeyan in the movie 'Doctor' and Vijay in the movie 'Beast'. He is now all set to direct Superstar Rajinikanth in the movie that has been titled 'Jailer'.
Following Soorarai Pottru, Kolamavu Kokila is in the making of a new avatar. In Bollywood, Sidharth Sengupta has completed an official remake of this film. Jhanvi Kapoor, the daughter of Boney Kapoor and the late actress Sridevi, will be playing the role of Nayanthara in the movie. On Friday, Jhanvi Kapoor has released the official poster on her social media handle in which she was seen with a gun, surrounded by an urban backdrop.
In another poster, Jhanvi Kapoor was seen hiding behind a container sporting a feared look and she appears to embrace the character as seen in the original Kolamavu Kokila. The Hindi remake has been bankrolled by Anand L Roy's 'Color Yellow Productions' in association with Lyca Productions. The film is slated to release on Disney + Hotstar on July 29. While Nayanthara had scored in the film due to her natural acting, fans are eagerly awaiting to see Jhanvi Kapoor as Kokila.
