While the PSBB school in Chennai has been surfaced with outrage after a senior teacher was accused of sexual harassment by several former and current students, another teacher of the school has on Monday got arrested by the Chennai police under similar charges. Last week, the police had arrested Rajagopalan, who was working in the school for twenty years and remanded him under judicial custody. 

Rajagopalan was teaching accounts and business studies in the school and last week, dozens of former and current students had petitioned to the school management and shared their pain and distress on social media over the awful behaviour posed by Rajagopalan during physical and online classes. The students had accused him of sexually harassing and body shaming them. 

Rajagopalan was also accused of sending obscene messages to the students and calling them to the movies. The shocking allegations from the prestigious school in the city had stunned the educationalists, celebrities, and political leaders. The school management of PSBB School KK Nagar branch, where Rajagopalan was working, was also flayed for its apathy in acting on the complaints filed by the students against Rajagopalan.

After the allegations, the school management had suspended him and the Chennai Police had arrested Rajagopalan. The police had booked a case against him under POCSO Act and remanded him under judicial custody. While Rajagopalan is in incarceration in Puzhal Prison in the city, another teacher from PSBB School has now been arrested in similar sexual harassment charges. 

According to reports, Kevin Raj, who was a karate teacher in PSBB Millenium school in Chennai, has been arrested by the police for sexually harassing the students. The All-women Anna Nagar police station in Chennai had booked a case against Kevin Raj under sections 376- punishment for rape, 506(i) - punishment for criminal intimidation, 354- assaulting or using criminal force to any woman under the Indian Penal Code.  

The police say that Kevin Raj was accused of sexually harassing the students during returning to Chennai from Namakkal after completing a sports event. The All-women police in Anna Nagar had interrogated Kevin Raj and arrested him for further investigations. The arrest of Kevin Raj had shown that he won't be the last in PSBB School as the police expect that many students will come forward and file a complaint against more teachers. 

The sexual allegations in PSBB School had triggered a fresh episode of the #MeToo movement in Chennai with scores of celebrities asking the affected students to come forward and file complaints against the teachers. Following the allegations from PSBB School, several such events had come to light from other schools. Last week, the police had booked a case against a teacher from Maharishi Vidya Mandir and a sports coach in Chennai for harassing the students. 

Following the allegations from the schools, the alumni of Thanjavur's Sastra University had written to the varsity's management about the harassment they faced from the professors and staff members. Kevin Raj is working in PSBB Millenium School. According to the school's website, the PSBB Millenium Group of Schools is a collaborative venture between the Bala Bhavan Educational Trust, Chennai that runs the PSBB Schools and the Learning Leadership Foundation. Meanwhile, PSBB's Rajagopalan had moved his bail petition while he has got a week away from marking the deadline of the 15-day judicial custody. The POCSO court in the city had heard his bail plea but it had eventually dismissed the petition.
