In a shocking development, reputed Actor Suriya has revealed that he had contracted the COVID-19 viral infection. Taking to Twitter on Sunday, Suriya said that he had got infected with the novel coronavirus and has recovered from the pandemic. He also urged everyone to stay safe and cautious.
Issuing a shocking call, Suriya took to Twitter and said, "I contracted and recovered from coronavirus infection. Let's all realize that our lives have not come back to normal. Yet we cannot confine ourselves to our homes due to fear. It is also important for us to stay cautious and safe. I convey my gratitude and affection to the dedicated doctors who are standing by us".
Ever since he aired the tweet and post on his social media handles, thousands of fans, celebrities, and well-wishers from across and beyond the borders have been expressing their wishes to the actor to come back stronger. According to reports, actor Suriya has become one of the reputed celebrities to get tested positive for the global pandemic. Better known for his work for society and education, Suriya had attained an immense reputation.
According to the Tamil Nadu Health Department, the state had reported 8,41,797 cases so far as of Sunday of which 4,389 are active cases, 8,25,025 have been discharged, and 12,383 people had succumbed to the pandemic. On Sunday, the state had reported 471 new cases.
Suriya was lastly seen in Sudha Kongara's directorial 'Soorarai Pottru' that was released on November 12, 2020, through Amazon Prime. While Suriya played the lead role, Aparna Balamurali, Karunas, Urvashi, and Paresh Rawal had acted in important roles. Suriya currently has signed to act in Vetrimaaran's directorial 'Vaadivasal', which has been expected to hit the big screens in the second half of 2021.
