As part of its preventive measures to fight the spread of the Coronavirus, Chennai corporation has been putting up the stickers outside the residences of those who are under quarantine and the corporation authorities have been identifying such residences and pasting the stickers to ensure that the people in such residences are home quarantined to safeguard themselves and the city from the pandemic.

On Saturday, the Chennai corporation has pasted such home quarantine sticker on the property that belongs to Actor turned politician Kamal Haasan and in that sticker, the corporation mentioned that the people in this property, that sits on Eldams Road, Alwarper, Chennai, must be under quarantine from March 10th to April 6th. Moments later the sticker at Kamal Haasan's property hit the news and spurred up the speculations on whether the actor has been under home quarantine. 

After the members of Makkal Needhi Maiam reached out to the Corporation, the sticker was removed. While addressing the reporters concerning the development, Chennai Corporation Commissioner Prakash said that the corporation staff had pasted a quarantine sticker at Kamal Haasan's residence because veteran actress Gautami has returned from Dubai recently and she has given this particular address on her passport. 

Actor Kamal Haasan had issued a statement in which he completely denied the reports of being under quarantine. He stated that he wasn't living in that particular address for the past few years and it has become the office for his party and added that the news that says he has been quarantined is not true.

He further stated that he has taken social distancing as a precautionary measure and he reinstated the public to observe social distancing to contain the spread of the virus and he requested the news agencies to analyze the news before breaking it so that fake news does not get spread. Actress Gautami and Kamal Haasan were in a relationship until 2018.
