488 vaccine doses per second, 28,000 doses in a minute: India makes history in Covid-19 vaccination!

India has on Friday poured a significant boost to its weaponry against the Covid-19 pandemic - vaccination. The country has ended Friday by recording history in administering the vaccine doses to its citizens as the mission of a major push to the vaccination campaign was accomplished successfully, thanks to the health care workers and citizens for coming out of reluctance.

The Union government has planned to finish the big in vaccination on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 71st birthday. The vaccination drive was rampant on Friday across the nation and the health department has to be commended for ensuring that the doses won't run out of stock. In the last 24 hours, till Saturday 8 am, India has administered 2.5 crore vaccine doses, which had become the highest single-day vaccination count recorded by the country.

It has also become a global feat as India has taken a major leap ahead in its battle against the pandemic. According to reports, India has inoculated 488 vaccine doses per second and 28,000 vaccine doses per minute across the country to achieve the feat of administering 2.5 crore vaccine doses in a day. As the sequel of the new record, the daily vaccinations in India had crossed the one-crore mark for the fourth time in less than a month. Earlier, the one-crore marks were recorded on September 6, August 31, and August 27.

Union Home Minister Mansukh Mandaviya had taken to social media and wrote in Hindi, "A gift to the Prime Minister on behalf of health workers and people of the country. On the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi today, India has crossed the historic figure of administering 2 crore vaccine doses in a day, setting a new record. Well done India!". Through this record, the total number of doses administered in the country has crossed 78.72 crores.

Mandaviya has said that this is the fastest pace at which one crore doses have been administered. The country had crossed the mark of 1 crore vaccines on Friday afternoon, which throw more weight to the affirmation that India will end the day by recording a historical feat in vaccination. On Friday afternoon, Mandaviya took to Twitter and wrote, "On PM Narendra Modi Ji's birthday, till 1.30 pm, the country has crossed the mark of 1 crore vaccines, the fastest so far, and we are continuously moving forward. I believe that today we will all make a new record of vaccination and give it as a gift to the Prime Minister."

On Thursday, Mandaviya had called for a major push to the Covid-19 vaccination drive during Prime Minister Modi's birthday on Friday, saying it would be the perfect gift for him. The BJP has asked its units across the country to help get a large number of people vaccinated on the occasion. India took 85 days to touch the 10-crore vaccination mark, 45 more days to cross the 20-crore mark and 29 more days to reach the 30-crore mark. According to PTI, India took 24 days to reach 40 crores from 30 crore doses and then 20 more days to cross the 50-crore vaccination mark on August 6. The total number of doses administered crossed the 75-crore mark on September 13.

After achieving the record number, Prime Minister Modi took to social media and wrote, "Every Indian would be proud of today’s record vaccination numbers. I acknowledge our doctors, innovators, administrators, nurses, healthcare and all front-line workers who have toiled to make the vaccination drive a success. Let us keep boosting vaccination to defeat COVID-19." BJP National President JP Nadda wrote, "2,00,00,000 mark crossed! This figure is a reflection of New India under PM @narendramodi’s leadership. India has set a path in successfully fighting COVID with visionary & diligent leadership. Congratulations to those who got vaccinated & those who made this campaign a success."

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi wrote, "Looking forward to many more days of 2.1 crore #vaccinations. This pace is what our country needs".
