Fans have a reason to rejoice as the makers of his blockbuster film Sivaji: The Boss, as the makers have shared an unseen photo of the actor with the first car bought by AV Meiyappan, the founder of AVM Productions. Stunningly featured in the Sivaji song "Athiradee," a red 1935 MG TB is now on display at the AVM museum in Chennai, which was recently visited by Rajinikanth.
In honor of Sivaji's 16th anniversary since its release, the AVM studio which backed the blockbuster, took to Twitter and shared him well wishes and shared a never-before-seen museum photo. “Oru koodai sunlight, oru koodai moonlight & #SuperstarRajinikanth’s unseen pictures from the @avmmuseum on the occasion of #SivajiTheBoss turning 16; One of Tamil Cinema’s biggest blockbusters!” the tweet read, quoting a line from another popular song ‘Style’ from Sivaji.
The museum, which was inaugurated by Chief Minister MK Stalin and actor-politician Kamal Haasan on May 7, showcases the legacy and history of AVM Studios, one of the oldest and most prestigious production houses in Tamil cinema. The museum also has a collection of vintage cars, palanquins, swords, cameras, costumes and other props used in various AVM films over the decades.
Rajinikanth, who starred in several AVM films such as Murattu Kaalai, Pokkiri Raja and Sivaji, visited the museum on June 15 and posed with some of the iconic items on display. Sivaji: The Boss, directed by Shankar and produced by AVM Productions, was released on June 15, 2007.
The film was a massive success at the box office and received critical acclaim for its technical aspects, music by AR Rahman and Rajinikanth’s performance. The film also starred Shriya Saran, Vivek, Suman and Raghuvaran in pivotal roles.
