15 Hours Of Searching...How Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia Is Stormed By The CBI Raid?

The central agency allegedly conducted raids at Sisodia's official residence in central Delhi and 20 other locations in seven states and Union territories on Friday in accordance with the claims made in its FIR filed on August 17 under IPC sections related to criminal conspiracy and provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act. Sisodia said in a lengthy interview with the media following the raid: "My computer and phone were taken. Additionally, they removed some files." According to the CBI, Sisodia is the primary accused individual on the list.

The FIR filed regarding the Delhi liquor scam prompted CBI raids at the major 17 locations, according to the reports. In addition to Manish Sisodia, the CBI report named 14 other people as suspects. Sisodia is the deputy chief minister of Delhi. After an extensive search, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) allegedly seized his computer, mobile phone, and some documents on Friday, August 19, in connection with alleged irregularities in the implementation of Excise Policy 2021–22. "Amit Arora, Director of Buddy Retail Pvt Limited in Gurgaon, Dinesh Arora, and Arjun Pandey are "close associates" of Sisodia and were actively involved in managing and diverting the wrongful financial advantage obtained from liquor licensees for the benefit of Sisodia," the CBI alleged in the FIR.

After the 15-hour long raids at more than 20 locations were over, Sisodia addressed the media."The CBI team reached in the morning and searched the whole house. My family and myself extended them full cooperation. They seized my computer and mobile phone. They also took away some files." The CBI reportedly has access to a large number of documents. Additionally, bank account-related documents have been taken. Besides this, it is reported that the team also stole the contents of Sisodia's email. The phone and other electronic devices have been seized by the CBI.

The raid was first began when Delhi Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar submitted a report to the Lt Governor of Delhi Vinai Kumar Saxena, on the allegations of irregularities in the issuance of licences after receiving complaints about them. According to the report submitted to the LG and CM, Sisodia made certain changes in the policy without the approval of Lt. Governor Saxena. Furtherly, CBI has suggested an investigation based on this report. On the basis of the complaint, the governor also fired 11 employees from the excise department. The new excise policy of the Delhi state government was withdrawn after the governor rejected it, and 468 private liquor stores in Delhi were shut down during the first week of August.Manish Sisodia, the deputy chief minister of Delhi, had the CBI search 21 additional locations in addition to his home and offices as they investigated the case.
